The Resort

Tignes Les Brevieres is the best kept secret in the French alps. The location of this charming village at 1550 meters at the end of the extensive ‘Espace Killy’ ski area means it has both easy access to the high-altitude vistas of Tignes, and serene forest runs with little through traffic. Les Brevieres is also the oldest village of the four resorts that now make up Tignes, and although the village has grown over the recent years to offer a good array of facilities it’s character still shines through.

In keeping with its character you will find Les Brevieres relaxed and friendly with many restaurants serving local savoie dishes such as fondue, raclette and pirard as well as amazing fillet steaks and the finest pizzas this side of Italy. The village also has a number of cafe’s, pubs, and bars for all tastes of après-ski activities.

The village has ski schools, two ski and snowboard hire shops. Other amenities include a supermarket, a bakery, a post office, and even an Ice driving track on a frozen lake!

Because of its geographical position Les Brevieres receives as much snow as its neighbors, during the 2005/06 season it received over 4 meters of snow.

Being part of the massive Espace Killy ski area, the village is linked with a state of the art lift system allowing skiers to visit far reaching parts of the area easily in a day and to travel with minimal queuing.

The Tignes glacier peaks at 3550 meters making it France’s highest ski-able glacier. With an excellent snow history and diverse terrain, Tignes has something for everyone, from large rolling blue runs such as the Anemone piste to the Vallon De La Sache, one of the longest in resort off piste runs in the world.
